I think the business model for DDG is okay: they sell ads, period. The ads are totally private, without tracking and only related to the immediately entered search term, but they are there.

I also don't think, personally, that billboards are that bad of an idea. They want to be known, they wouldn't put ads on Google Ads or FB, so why not offline?
